The Oxbow arena features an 80' by 180' artificial skating ice surface, as well as a curling ice surface. Brand new insulation has been added to the interior ceiling.

takes place in September with the play action running from October to March.

Registration determines the number of teams. Both boys and girls play together.

Oxbow Curling Club

The Oxbow Curling Club is in operation from November to March annually. The organization meets the 2nd Monday of each month during regular season. The Oxbow Curling Club has weekly curling on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, yearly men's and lady's bonspiels, country curling on Friday afternoons, and kids curling.

The Oxbow Figure Skating Club's regular season takes place from October to March. Skating is on Tuesday, Thursday, and Fridays weekly during the regular season. The club offers learn to skate programs, power skating, and star skate.

Check out the new fitness center for all your fitness requirements.  Everything from weight training, to aerobics will be vailable.  Try out the treadmill, rowing machine or steppers.  Keeping fit is made easy in Oxbow's new Fitness Centre. Oxbow Community Pool

pool.jpgThe Oxbow Community Pool is an outdoor facility with a swimming pool and paddling pool.

Open:
Monday to Friday: 1 PM to 5 PM & 7 PM to 9 PM
Saturday and Sunday:  1 PM to 8PM

 

 

Oxbow Aquatic Club - Oxbow Seawolves

The Oxbow Aquatic Club's regular season takes place in June and July annually. The Aquatic Club meets at the Oxbow Community Pool. The Aquatic Club has a Speed Swimming Club for ages 6 and up. Speed Swimming is taught Monday to Friday during June and July with speed meets held in the weekends of July.

Oxbow's Swim Meet will be held July 15, 2007!

Registration is held in April or early May.


Oxbow Ball Diamonds

Oxbow Minor Ball

Boys and girls baseball and softball takes place through May and June.

Registration takes place at the end of March. Watch the local paper for dates or contact the Oxbow Elementary School at (306) 483-2777


Moose Creek Golf Course

Moose Creek golf course is a grass green 9 hole golf course. Power cart rentals are available. Moose Creek golf course is located 4 miles North and 1.5 miles West of Oxbow.

The Club is a brotherhood organized for fellowship and the promotion of moral attitudes in all people. Applications for membership are available at any time.

Bow Valley Air Cadets

Cadets is a federally sponsored program for young Canadians aged 12 to 18 who are interested in participating in a variety of challenging and rewarding activities, and learning more about the Canadian Forces.


Cadets run from September to May of each year. Meetings are held Thursdays at 7 P.M. at Oxbow Memorial Hall. For more information contact the Air Cadet Office at (306) 483-5279

Friendship Club of Oxbow

Oxbow & District Lions Club

The Lions meet from October through June annually. Meetings are held every 1st and 3rd Monday of each month of operation at the Lions Den located on the 2nd floor of the Oxbow Rink. The Lions offer BBQ catering, BBQ rentals, and dunk tank rentals.


The Lions Den is available for rent:
Corporations: $100
Local Clubs: $50 or $75 with the kitchen

Oxbow Community Emergency Support Program

We provide emergency help for families in our area (i.e. medical travel, groceries, etc.). We also help to provide for the needs of children. We do annual Christmas hampers for Oxbow and surrounding area.

Senior men's competitive hockey team competing throughout the season in the Big 6 hockey league.

Oxbow Oilwives

This organization started 50 years ago with the purpose of assisting oilwives to meet people and develop friendships. Meetings are held the 1st Wednesday of each month at 7 P.M. The oilwives have an annual ladies night held the Saturday before Mother's Day.

Royal Canadian Legion - Branch 187

The Legions meet every 2nd Wednesday of each month at 7:30 P.M. September through June. Membership is open to anyone interested - contact any member. The Legion participates and organizes a Remembrance Day Poppy Campaign annually and does various other community fund raisers. Contact Roy for more information!


The Legion clubroom located at 313 Prospect Avenue can be rented for a donation.

Souris Valley Ladies Tennis Club

tennis club 2web.jpgThe Souris Valley Ladies Tennis Club was first formed in 1999.  It was thus named to incorporate all the towns in the area.

In 2007 the club has 25 members from towns including Oxbow, Glen Ewen, Carnduff, Alida, Alameda, Estevan, and Kenosee.  The season runs from early May until mid October.  The season is broken into three sessions to best accommodate the members.  Members have the option of how many times a week they wish to play in each of the three sessions.  A schedule for doubles is drawn up for the May/June session, the July/August session and the September/October session.  The Oxbow courts are utilized each evening from Monday to Thursday to accommodate the club schedule.

Free lessons are offered to beginners in May and June and an instructional clinic from a Tennis tennis clubweb.jpgSaskatchewan instrucotr is offered in early June.

Southeast Al-Anon

Southeast Al-Anon meets every Thursday at 8 P.M. year round at Greer Block on Main Street (Old Bank Building).

Since this is an anonymous fellowship, we will not provide names, only numbers. Al-Anon is a fellowship of men and women, friends and relatives of alcoholics, who come together to solve their common problem by sharing their experience, strength and hope. There are no dues for membership.

Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association

The Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association Inc. (S.P.R.A.) is a non-profit volunteer organization whose purpose is to promote, develop and facilitate parks and recreation opportunities throughout the province.

S.P.R.A. is recognized as the provincial umbrella organizations representing parks and recreation in Saskatchewan. S.P.R.A. manages the Recreation Section of the Saskatchewan Lotteries Trust Fund for Sport, Culture and Recreation. Log onto www.spra.sk.ca for more information and grant information!


South East Saskatchewan Association for Culture Recreation and Sport

sesacrs.gifS.E.S.A.C.R.S. is a non-profit association which amalgamates the Zone One Sports Council, Pipe Si-Cana, Wheatland Souris and Moose Mountain Regional Recreation Associations.

The southeast began looking at how to make the best use of their limited resources and it was decided to look into the possibility of working closer together. It was realized that there were cost savings in going from four boards, four sets of books and duplication of services to - one board, one set of books and no duplication of services.
